The University of Gibraltar is Gibraltar’s only university. It is in the southernmost point of Gibraltar. The University of Gibraltar is a not-for-profit independent tertiary institution that was established by The University of Gibraltar Act 2015. The Act provides for the establishment or designation of bodies to safeguard the academic standards of the university and to regulate the conduct of its affairs. The Act also grants the university the right and the power to award degrees (including research and honorary degrees), diplomas and certificates.

The University of Greenland (Greenlandic: Ilisimatusarfik; Danish: Grønlands Universitet) is Greenland’s only university. It is in the capital city of Nuuk. Most courses are taught in Danish, a few in Greenlandic and classes by exchange lecturers often in English.

The university had an enrollment of approximately 650 students in 2015, composed of mostly Greenlandic inhabitants. It has around fourteen academic staff and five technical-administrative employees. The modest student population is due in part to the government’s policy allowing students a free university education anywhere in Europe or North America, with most Greenlandic students going to university in Denmark.

This list follows the list of recognised bodies on the UK government website. All the institutions on this list are recognised bodies with university status, indicated either by their use of university title in their name on the recognised bodies list or by reference to the Office for Students database for the few universities that do not use the title in their name. Member institutions of the University of London are listed under the University of London.
