Letter of Intent Sample – 27 for MS

I am very interested in pursuing MS Information Technology at some good institute in United States of America. The following is a brief description of my academic background, my interests and my aspirations.

Academic Background

After a good record in school, I chose to take up the Bachelor of Engineering in Department of Production Engineering at MGM’s College of Engineering, Nanded. After completing my first year of the program, I shifted to Department of Production Engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, Aurangabad, one of the most competitive and sought after institution in the country. I have had an above average academic record.

In my fifth semester at Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, Aurangabad, I presented a seminar on “Metrological Alignment with Laser” under the guidance of Prof. S.S.Patil. In my final semester I have worked on my thesis titled “Computer Aided Simulation of Transportation and Assignment Models” under an able guidance of Prof. S.G. Shakkarwar. This was an extremely challenging problem in the field of automation of Production Processes. I had also taken up courses of Computer Programming, Basic Electronics, Computational Technique and CAD/CAM as a part of curriculum of Bachelor of Engineering. I have also gone undergone intensive training program at Datapro Infoworld Ltd, Aurangabad in programming language C++. I am therefore confident that this base coupled with the four years of my undergraduate education would provide a sound background for graduate study in Information Technology.

I spent the summer of 1996 as an Implant Trainee at Jet Shop and A-320 hangers at the Indian Airlines Ltd, New Delhi. This training has given me an insight into the various aspects of maintenance procedures involved in aviation industry. I had the rare opportunity to study and operate some of the most sophisticated instruments in the world such as jet Engines, Diagnostic Equipment used to diagnose snags in jet Engines, Radas, Communication Systems in aircraft, type of flights.

Interests

I strongly believe in ‘learning by doing’. My undergraduate program at JNEC gave me an insight into mechanical and production systems. I have a strong desire to work on various projects, which are aimed at improving these systems in all spheres. My idea behind joining the MS in Information Technology is to enhance my programming skills as well as to get an intensive training in the field of Information Technology so that after completion I am in a position to extract utmost benefit from both undergraduate and graduate programs.
I enjoy teaching. I have been standing first in the queen to assist my professors in my undergraduate program. I have been giving part time tuition to my juniors as well as students of high school and senior school.

Admission to Graduate School

Graduate study i look up on graduate study in information technology an avenue to hone and refine my skills and an opportunity for refinement of my career. I am confident of being able to work independently as well as in a group. I feel that my determination, motivation, ability to analyze problems logically and willingness to work hard, will stand me in good stead in. i contribution to academics and engineering.

The strong emphasis on interdisciplinary programs would give me a wonderful chance to explore in a much better way. I hope i fit in am bent on realizing my career goals and making a personal with your idea of a promising graduate student. The edifice of my career is building on the foundation of my admission to the mater of science-information technology.
