Letter of Intent Sample – 67 for MS

The ensuring statement of purpose is meant to put forth my aspiration to pursue my career through Masters in Aeronautical Management at your esteemed university, as well as description of my plans subsequent to my graduation .I am an aviation personnel (after spending almost 8-9 years in aviation) and in this ever changing world of Engineering and Management, I want to attain the highest level of education and transcend new scope for research in Aviation.

My under graduation studies has given me a comprehensive exposure to the core areas of Mechanical and aeronautical Engineering and a strong conceptual understanding of the same, but it is the experience I have gained while working on aircrafts and as a faculty member that helped me to gain excellent fundamentals of Engineering. During this period I was involved in maintaining an aircraft, preparing various technical literatures, exposed to the latest technical changes in the world and in-depth knowledge of various mechanical and aeronautical subjects especially in Aircraft systems and engines, on the basis of which DGCA, Govt. Of India has given me an approval for monitoring the training of students (in mechanical branch) in a DGCA approved institute as a Dy. Chief Instructor.

I finished my schooling with 83% in 10th class but was able to secured only 64 % in 12th.The reason behind my not so good performance in 12th standard because my mind was totally diversified and was giving more concentration over lab work, solving typical problems which were beyond my syllabus and at most had started running a group of students belonging from different educational boards ,in which we were used to discuss about applications of science rather than concentrating over our syllabus. I was totally shocked with my performance and then decided to work harder for getting admission in a reputed Engineering institute. I was leaving near to an airport and was used to see different aircraft hovering over our surroundings and from those days I had decided to go for aircraft engineering. I am proud to say that our institute is one of the best in India for conducting Aircraft maintenance engineering Course (Approved by Director General of Civil Aviation for conduction 3 years License course after 12th), but I was able to confirm an admission there only after struggling for 2 years (seats were limited to 30), and I am still happy that I made it and passed with 76 % marks, meanwhile I had taken admission for Bachelors in Physics but was unable to appear for my exams because session of university was running late by almost a year.

In this world where engineers and managers in aviation are proliferating at an extremely high place, I felt that I had to do something different to stand in a good position in the competitive world and be able to do something for the betterment of aviation industry. My eagerness to go for masters forced me to go for Bachelors in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from Singhania University (Approved by UGC, India), which is a course started by the university on request from Civil Aviation Department for engineering professionals in aviation in India.

Throughout my carrier, I have seen various discrepancies in management and most of the time they are unable to understand the importance of engineering requirements. That makes me to conclude that for improving this situation, I have to do something substantial in this field and because Germany is the hub for new aviation, I have decided to follow this path.

Finally, I would like to add here that my parents have always been a source of inspiration to me. They have set me personal examples and ideals for me to follow. As a result of this, I believe that over the years, I have evolved into a person who can fit easily into a team and who appreciates the value of discussion and exchanges of ideas. I am largely self-regulated and am capable of independent work, if given an opportunity.

I would like to conclude with the reasons for my choosing to apply to your esteemed university for my Master degree. I perceive that graduate study nurtures the seeds of learning sown during the course of undergraduate study. After having gone through the details of the research facilities available at your university, I feel that they are very much catering to the fields of interest and it is the right place to embark upon my academic career.

An assistantship besides providing financial support as seen fit by the university official would gain me valuable experience and will place me in a good stead leader in my career .I wish to aver that I will make maximum use of all the opportunities bestowed upon me and shall pursue my goals with whole hearted dedication and can live to the high standards set by the university. I sincerely hope that my application for admission is favorably received.
