Letter of Intent Sample – 63 for MS

My decision to pursue my Masters in Germany is underscored by my ardent desire to be enrolled in the Masters Program in Power Engineering at your well esteemed institution. TU Munich offers ample opportunities to excel in this field. The facilities and the faculty are really meritorious.

Currently I’ve completed Bachelors in Electrical Engineering with Power as my major at University of Engineering and technology Lahore. The flabbergasting field of electrical engineering has really embellished our lives and has given us cognizance of many clandestine aspects. It is one industry which is going to shape our future in the years to come.

My interest in Electrical Engineering blossomed during my college years. It was the time when technology had begun to make an impact on the lives of people in Pakistan. Owing to my aspiration, I chose Electrical Engineering for my undergraduate studies. I had to vie with a lot of students in order to secure admission in B.Sc Electrical Engineering at UET, Lahore, but I did it by the dint of my hard work. The major subjects which I have studied include Power System Analysis, High Voltage Engineering, Power System Protection, System Engineering Management, Communication Systems, Control Systems, Signals and systems, and Power System operation. My final year project was based on an algorithm for unit commitment and economic power dispatch. A Master degree in Electrical Power Engineering is the next logical step.

In addition I have also been a student member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.) for the past one year. I’ve also served as the Chair Liaison sector at the IEEE’s student branch, UET Lahore. Through its workshops, conferences, seminars and publications like the ‘The Spectrum’ it has exposed me to a lot of emerging technologies in the field of electrical engineering. I also have the credit of organizing mega events like TechnoFest’11, Brainiac’11, ICOST’11, and TechnoFest’12 at my University.

I’ve also taught English Extreme and German A-1 at the Department of Electrical Engineering, UET Lahore under the patronage of IEEE and conducted two separate sessions.

It is a strong belief in my kith and kin that the German education system has the best to offer in the whole world. This belief arises out of the experience that my friends and cousins had when they did their Masters of Science from Germany during the years 2009-11. Besides this Germans hold the eminence of being the pioneers of engineering. Germany is undoubtedly a fandom of modern technology and engineering. If I can get an opportunity to be a part of that intellectually stimulating environment, I am sure my talents will be put to optimal use.

I’m also familiar with German. I’ve passed Zeugnis A-1. I can make conversations which would suffice and will help me in fraternizing and hobnobbing among German circles. Moreover, it will also provide me with an opportunity to ameliorate my current German diction and attain a good command over the German dialect.

Pakistan is a developing country with an enormous potential in the field of Electrical Engineering. Also Pakistan is suffering from power crisis due to inept management. To serve the needs of this developing industry and more important its vast population, rapid development in power and automation sector is going to become of utmost importance. Thus conditions here are very conducive to supplement my aspirations when I return after completing my graduate studies.
