Letter of Intent Sample – 42 for MS

As part of my endeavor to pursue higher studies, I am presenting the statement of purpose.

Science as a subject has always fascinated me, right from school days, when it answered many questions that grilled my mind. This helped me to develop logical thinking and reasoning abilities and ultimately a strong liking and a sound and profound ground for physics and mathematics. It’s only because of this that I chose science as my major for my two-year intermediate course.

In India getting enrolled into a technical course is through a rigorous entrance test. My performance in the test provided me with privilege of choice. I secured admission in to the four year degree program of Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics in the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Amateur which is regarded as premier institute in the country. I chose to maker in electronics engineering with an intense urge to delve deeper into this challenging field. During my undergraduate program learned various fundamentals of electrical engineering subjects like Electrical Circuits, Electronic Devices and Electronic Circuits which together with the practical work reinforced my interest.

Objective Behind Graduate Study

The process of learning continues throughout once life says an old adage. As one goes on learning new things, one realizes that there are many more things which one needs to learn to quench one’s thirst for knowledge.

In a few months time, I will have bachelors dirge bestowed upon me. During the course of my undergraduate study I have learnt many things but I have also realized that I need to learn more to advance frontiers in many field of interest. A graduate study will surely help me to satisfy my quest for knowledge and to bring out my forte to the fore.

I am well aware that interest alone does not suffice, but a strong technical background should back it up. I feel that my rigorous undergraduate program has provided me with a perfect set up to the fact that admission to a university of repute such as yours with distinguished faculty and alumni, and model research facilities will expose me to frontiers of latest technology and widen my mental horizons. The other reason why I want to study at your esteemed university is that it provides the kind of exposure needed to undo any insular prejudices that might be still prevalent in me. Your university is a confluence of people from every culture, nationality, religion, race, and ideology. I am sure that my exposure to these kinds of diverse influences would aid in the overall development of my personality and help me broaden my concept from the narrower confines of nationalism to internationalism. Also with some of the best brains around, it will be inspiring for me to bring the best out of myself.

In conclusion I would say that I am very keen to join your university. I have about this esteemed university from my professors. Thanks to our beloved professor Dr. K.S.R.Anjaneyulu for having instigated to me a desire to take up VLSI designing as my further course of study. As your university is ingoted in research projects where my interest lies I believe that I can contribute significantly to further the research while I myself become eminently qualified as a scientist. With positive attitude and pragmatism to excel, I look forward to an exciting and intellectual rewarding graduate study at your institutions and confident that given an opportunity I will scale up to high standard of your institution. Looking forward to be a part of your graduate community.
