Being in the forefront of a field of knowledge always holds a special charm. To be in touch with and hopefully, to be a part of the cutting edge in Electrical engineering research is something. I would cherish. An MS from the right institute, apart from being a memorable experience in itself. Would go a long way in helping me to achieve my eventual goal of taking up a front-line position in academia. I am sure with its highly demanding and achievement oriented environment will equip me for this cherished goal of mine.
My first contact with electrical engineering was in high school when I took an elective course for the same. It was the time when technology had begun to make an impact on the lives of people in India. The design projects that I had taken kept my interest in the field of electronic circuit design and I developed a strong liking for the subject. My interest grew strong enough for my taking it as my future profession, as a continuation of this I opted for Electronics discipline during my Engineering. Further seeing the demands of the future, I decided to train myself professionally in software, as this is the part I thought would integrate with the future electronics. Keeping the scenario in mind I opted for software industry. Now when I think I have enough knowledge of it I have decided to pursue my career in electronics.
After completing my undergraduate courses, I decided to take a break in my education as I think no education is complete without real life experience. Keeping with the goal of joining the academia. I accepted my first full time job as faculty in a training institute. Throb helped me in developing strong interpersonal communication skills necessary for any teamwork; at the same time I developed my skills in software. To further enhance my skill-set I started offering consultancy to small firms, this included deep level study of their systems and working procedures; and then offering them the simplest interdepartmental linking. This has helped me acquire knowledge in various real-time problems; ranging from complicated network linking CNC lather to simple network linking interdepartmental accounts. Thus, working with such type of problems has provided me with an attitude to examine things very closely, and to consider all the ramifications of a problem, which I think, is a must for any research engineer.
My training in Electronics concatenated with my experience with my experience as a software designer has imparted me skills necessary required in the study of Microelectronics. As today’s Ices are becoming more complex, the task of designing faster chips requires deep knowledge of fundamental sub-micron effects in multi million transistor Ices as well as the knowledge of esoteric algorithms of today’s EDA software. My research interests are two fold. Firstly to work in the field of networking to develop better Map’s, which are capable of faster processing of mixed signal, which will be encountered into coming years highly complex networks. And secondly I would be focusing on better-embedded software.
My scope of graduate studies will be focused in the field of Microelectronics, MSP and DSP along with a thorough study of data structures and the real time problem-solving algorithm keeping my interest in mind. I had to opt for an institute offering inters disciplinary courses and research facilities in field of my interest. From the introductory materials that I have received and from the information on your comprehensive web sit. I find that my interest is very similar to the reach being conducted at your Electrical Engineering Department. I am sure that if admitted to graduate program, I shall be above to benefit immensely from its eminent faculty and excellent research frailties. Furthermore I am Confident of utilizing this opportunity to create significant new research of practical relevance, thus contributing my bit to heritage of excellent achievements. I look forward to an offer of admission with financial aid.
