The quest for knowledge has always been my ardent with and right from childhood. I was inspired to pursue my studies as best I could. My School and Higher Secondary Education were completed with marked success. Thereafter, I joined for the course in Mechanical Engineering.
As I was hesitating on the idea of joining the Merchant Navy, I realized that there existed a construction boom in my State Goa. I immediately plunged myself into this new field. Knowing it was not going to be smooth sailing for me yet with my perseverance and devoting to hard work I was confident of attaining success.
Thus, I joined a construction Company for a training period of 6 months. It helped me to gain a thorough insight into all the requisites of the job and when I was well acquainted with the varied information and techniques of construction, I ventured to form my own Company namely M/s. New Wave Real Estate Pvt. Ltd., formed in 1993, along with my other family members as Directors of the Company.
We specialized in construction of Residential and Commercial building. As I had no formal training in Management and Business Administration, I had to strive hard to acquire all the basic skills through experience and my own initiative for the growth and eventual success of my Company. Sales and Technical Supervision were the two main areas. I strove to promote and establish myself.
Most of the completed apartments and villas were sold to local and foreign clients. Thus, I had to travel to Europe and the Middle East to procure sales and with the help of my web-site I succeeded in advertising and promoting the sale of my projects.
Now that my construction company is fairly well established with good repute, my focus now is bent on further expansion and hence, I wish to study Business Management. My constant thirst for knowledge has provided me to seek the best available institution which will help me in this endeavor and I promptly thought of your esteemed American University for the fulfillment of my ambition.
