Fascinated by machinery and its mechanics from a young age, my ambition was to be an Engineer. Always planning and executing my life to predetermined goals, I worked towards and secured admissions to the Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering at Goa University and graduated with a First class with Honours. Initially served as a production officer with Ceejay Rubber works, a tread rubber manufacturing firm. In November 1996 I joined MRF Tyres Ltd. India’s numero no tyres manufacturing company (Annual turnover of approximately-US $ 570 million) in the capacity of Graduate Mechanical Engineer. The desire to acquire knowledge about other aspects of organizational functioning prompted me to enroll for the Masters program in Industrial engineering at the Goa University, a course designed for working professionals.
Starting off in the “Maintenance” department at MRF I was later accepted to the Industrial engineer exposed me to other management aspects, which has stimulated this need in me to update myself. With this in mind, I wish to enroll for a M.B.A. program. This, I am convinced, will enable me to get a holistic perspective on Business and Industry.
I intend to pursue this degree in an American University. I’m confident your management program, comprehensive with an excellent faculty that will expose me to the latest development in technology, how industry responds and adapts to these changes. This will equip me with the skills required to attain my goal. My involvement and commitment would stand me in good stead to meet the academic challenged that your university would pose.
As India pursues a globalization and rapid industrial expansion policy, my work experience so far coupled with a degree in Business management will enrich my opportunities of being in the right place at the right time with the right skills.
With hands on know how of the requirements and problems of the industry and managing it, my long term goal is to successfully establish myself as a Management Consultant.
